First Day of Spring!!!

A beautiful sunny day!! 67 degrees - it almost feels too warm. The tulip tips are poking through the ground right alongside the narcissus.
Cut all the grass bunches back in the front, it looks so much better now. We planted our Lindenbaum last night into the "big hole" the previous owner left us. One of my favorite trees. I can't wait to smell the sweet scent....

Der alte Lindenbaum

In Winters weißem, stillem Traum
da seh`ich mich als alter Lindenbaum :
Ich hab`mein grünes Laub verstreuet

und nichts ist, was mich freuet.

Das Land schläft in verschneiter Ruh
und Schnee deckt meine Zweige zu :
Nur selten huscht ein junges Reh
sehr eilig durch den harten Schnee.

Und stehn im Sommergrün und Windesrauschen
die frischen Wiesen längst im Blütenkleid
dann öffne ich die Blütenzweige weit
und werde fröhlich meinen Bienen lauschen!

I want to write this blog as my garden journal. Life in and around our beautiful little "Cala Sona" ( Gaelic for Happy Haven).
We moved here in December and now the wonderful and exiting journey begins turning this vast expanse of lawn into our little paradise to grow old in.
The Wintergarten is overflowing with plants I dug out from the old home before we moved and low and behold they all made it. I was so happy to see all the new sprouts poking out of the flowerpots. Some of them had to make it through the winter in very tiny pots and I wasn't sure if they'd survive. Now I can't wait to give them their permanent home.
